Our Sanctuary Wish List: Why We Need More Than Just Love

At Ms. Kitty’s Animal Sanctuary, love is in abundance. It flows from our volunteers’ gentle hands, from our supporters' kind messages, and from the purrs and tail flicks of every rescued soul under our care. But while love is the heartbeat of what we do, running a sanctuary takes more than hugs and head boops.
Every day, we care for dozens of animals—many with special medical or emotional needs. To give them the second chance they deserve, we rely on something that’s not quite as warm and fuzzy as love: resources.
💡 Why a Wish List?
Think of our wish list as a bridge between compassion and action. It’s made up of the everyday essentials that keep our sanctuary running smoothly, safely, and cleanly. While monetary donations help us cover big-ticket expenses like surgeries and vet visits, physical donations provide immediate relief and help us stretch our budget even further.
And honestly? Sometimes, it’s the smallest things—a bottle of bleach, a roll of paper towels, a box of gloves—that make the biggest difference in our day-to-day operations.
🧼 Our Current Needs
Here’s a peek at what we’re in most need of right now:
🐾 Pet Supplies:
Wet and dry cat food (especially grain-free or prescription diets)
Cat litter (clumping, unscented preferred)
Litter boxes (all sizes)
Cat toys and scratchers (yes, they do get bored!)
Soft blankets and towels (new or gently used)
🧹 Cleaning & Sanitation:
Paper towels
Bleach and disinfectants (pet-safe)
Trash bags (heavy duty)
Laundry detergent
Disposable gloves
🏥 Medical & Wellness:
Flea treatments (like Advantage or Revolution)
Dewormers
Ear cleaner and cotton pads
Pet-safe wound ointments
Syringes (for bottle feeding or medications)
📦 Office & Miscellaneous:
Printer paper
Postage stamps
Storage bins
Gift cards (Walmart, Chewy, Amazon, local pet stores)
❤️ How You Can Help
There are so many ways to give, and every act of generosity—big or small—counts:
Shop our Amazon Wish List
Drop off donations at the sanctuary (call ahead to schedule)
Host a supply drive at your workplace, school, or church
Share this post—you never know who might have extra supplies at home
🐱 A Little Goes a Long Way
Every item donated means more time cuddling and rehabilitating, and less time scrambling for supplies. It means we can stretch our funds further to rescue one more stray, treat one more sick kitten, and offer sanctuary to one more soul who’s never known safety.
Love is the reason we’re here—but your generosity is what keeps us going.
From all of us (especially the furry ones):
Thank you for helping us help them.
