Help Us Say Yes: When We Get Emergency Rescue Requests

ree

At our sanctuary, the phone rings more often than you might think—with pleas for help, urgent texts, and voicemails that start with, “Can you take just one more?” Each time, our hearts say yes. But we can only act when we know we have the resources to provide food, medical care, and safe shelter.

Emergency rescue requests come when someone finds a cat injured on the side of the road, when an elderly person passes away and leaves behind beloved pets, or when a feral mother and her kittens are discovered under a porch during a heatwave. These situations don’t wait—and neither can we.

💔 What “Emergency” Really Looks Like

Here are just a few examples of the calls we’ve received recently:

  • A litter of newborn kittens left in a cardboard box in a grocery store parking lot, covered in ants and in desperate need of bottle feeding and round-the-clock care.

  • A senior cat abandoned during a move, alone and dehydrated in a foreclosed home, requiring immediate IV fluids and dental surgery.

  • A severely injured stray, likely hit by a car, with a broken leg and no one else to help.

Each one of these cats needed help right away, and because of generous donors like you, we were able to say yes.

🐾 But We Can’t Say Yes Alone

The truth is, we want to answer every call for help—but we’re limited by the donations we receive. Medical care, especially for emergencies, can cost hundreds or even thousands of dollars per cat. That’s before food, litter, and the space they need to recover safely.

When you donate, you're not just giving money. You’re giving us the power to act quickly. You’re giving an injured cat a chance to heal. You’re giving a frightened stray a place to feel safe. You’re helping us say yes when it matters most.

❤️ How You Can Help

If you’ve ever wished you could do something for a cat in distress, this is your chance. Here’s how:

  • Make a one-time emergency donation Every dollar helps us prepare for the next call.

  • Become a monthly donor Your consistent support allows us to say yes without hesitation.

  • Share this post Help us reach others who care as much as you do.

  • Donate supplies Food, carriers, heating pads, and kitten formula go fast when emergencies hit.

🙏 Thank You for Being Our Lifeline

When emergencies strike, we turn to you. Your compassion fuels every rescue, every recovery, and every second chance.

Let’s make sure that the next time someone calls us in tears, hoping we can take in a cat with nowhere else to go, the answer is not "We wish we could"—but a confident and immediate “Yes.”
